Aquila can help you with processing high volumes of documents. With our platform you will:
AQUILA is powered by IBM Watson Studio and Cloud. The core of the platform is artificial intelligence trained by experts working at our office in the relevant field of expertise. Lawyers create knowledge bases, so-called playbooks, with template clauses, provisions and contents to be analysed by the platform. With their support, AQUILA can locate and recognise contents with the same meaning, even if recorded differently.

We approach every project individually, offering tailored advice and support at every stage of a business project. AQUILA can be quickly adapted and taught your specific business needs, by working in the background with existing systems or as a separate application.
During the first meeting, we will present AQUILA’s capabilities and its current, ready-to-use knowledge bases (playbooks). We will also explain the methodology of AI training.
Together with you, we will select the use case(s) required to prepare the Proof of Concept, and define the success criteria. We will identify the sample documents and provisions needed to finalize the PoC.
We will present an initial playbook and AQUILA’s functionalities, based on the use case(s) selected in the previous step. Together, we will conduct quality tests and verify whether the success criteria were fulfilled.
In this step, we will mutually define the target use case(s) of the final product. We will also conduct and present a benefit/cost analysis and prepare a Statement of Work definition.
To prepare the final product, we will deploy and present the previously agreed playbooks and implement the required customisations and integrations. However, we will not leave you alone with the product after that. After the go-live, we will provide you with continuous support to use AQUILA in your business.
05 USE CASES
AQUILA is capable of analysing single documents or whole batches of documents. You can use the pre-existing knowledge bases or customize the platform to your individual requirements. Check how AQUILA helps our clients in improving their business.
During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, a detailed due diligence process regarding a company in the commercial real estate sector was required. It included the analysis of hundreds of lease agreements signed. Usually, the process would be carried out on a small sample of documents, analyzed thoroughly by a lawyer and extrapolated.
AQUILA Leases enabled the client to gather information from all leases, including the creation of document abstracts and gathering key business data. The platform presented the most important data and provisions regarding commercial business during the lockdown (e.g. rent payments in case of business activity being impossible, force majeure, premature termination of the contract), assessing risk and pointing out the most problematic cases. All of that with a fraction of time and resources required for an analysis carried out by a human expert.
After the early 2000s Swiss franc mortgages boom in Poland and the franc subsequently doubling in value against the zloty, the banks are facing thousands of lawsuits. The total value of Swiss franc loans in Poland is estimated at $31 billion and the legal status of these loan agreements is one of the main threats to the Polish banking industry’s stability. With hundreds of thousands of loan agreements signed, banks have to comprehensively review how many of these contain provisions that could be challenged in court, in order to properly assess their level of risk.
AQUILA Loans allows the client to analyse all the Swiss franc denominated agreements, signed over a long period, based on a variety of templates or created by different entities. The automatic document analysis provided by AQUILA offeres a simple presentation of the ratio of problematic agreements, points out the specific documents and creates document abstracts with key business data (e.g. loan value and duration). To gather all this information, an expert lawyer would have to read every agreement, making the process a lot more time and resource consuming.
